Reliable Heating & Cooling Repairs & Maintenance in Canberra and Surrounds

Stay On Top of Your Heating & Cooling

At Climatrol, we'd like you to enjoy the benefits of effective heating/cooling systems! Ensuring a system is running at its best is vital, especially in Canberra's harsh summers and winters. Routine maintenance and servicing are paramount to getting the best performance from your system and avoiding costly repairs.

Reverse Cycle Air Conditioning Maintenance You Should Do

All refrigerated air conditioning systems have one or more filters that you must periodically clean (we recommend every 3 months). In a ducted system the filter will be in the return-air inlet (the main intake supplying air back to the indoor unit), while with a split system the indoor head will usually incorporate two filters. Either way, such filters protect the fan and the evaporator coil from becoming blocked with dust and dirt. If your filter(s) aren't maintained regularly, those components can be damaged, resulting in costly repairs, not to mention the inconvenience of not having effective cooling. We can give you advice on how to clean your filter(s). It's also a good idea to get a ducted system's filter replaced every 3-4 years, or sooner if it shows signs of damage. The filters in the indoor head of a split system should not need periodic replacement, but you should still seek filter replacement in the event of damage.

The outdoor unit should be kept clear of any loose rubbish, and no materials should be stacked or stored around or in front of an outdoor unit, as inadequate airflow around the outdoor unit can cause failures or reduced function. There are no filters to clean on the outdoor unit.

Gas, Evaporative and Reverse Cycle Maintenance We Can Do

Heating and cooling systems require preventative maintenance, which can be important both for the longevity of the system and for its on-going efficiency during that lifetime. Preventative maintenace can also reduce noise levels – which is of particular significance in Canberra, where there are regulations as to the maximum noise levels in dB(A) (decibels but weighted to account for the fact that human hearing sensitivity varies with pitch) permitted in different zones of the city at different times of day. Other than cleaning the filters on a reverse cycle system or add-on cooler, maintenance of a reverse cycle, add-on cooling, ducted-gas or evaporative system should only be carried out by a qualified technician. We recommend having a preventative maintenance service on your system every year or two. We will be happy to service your system regardless of whether or not we installed it.

And if your system has broken down or isn't working properly, Climatrol has the experience and know-how to get your heating and/or cooling up-and-running hassle-free, or, if you'd like, to provide you with a quote for a new system if, on assessment, we find your system is not economically repairable.

We can also modify existing systems, for example adding zoning or new outlets to a ducted system, or moving a unit.
